Here’s How You Can Redeem The eMADANI RM100 Credit Starting Today

by Rachel Chuah
December 4, 2023

4th December may seem like an innocuous date, but for many Malaysians, it’s a dawn of opportunity as the eMADANI application process is finally available! Reportedly, starting today, 10 million eligible Malaysian citizens will have the opportunity to redeem RM100 in electronic cash.

This initiative was launched by the government recently with an aim to benefit 10 million Malaysians under the “Ekonomi Madani: Memperkasa Rakyat” framework, with a budget allocation of RM1 billion. Adults under the B40 and M40 groups will be able to receive a one off e-wallet credit worth RM100 in the coming days. Here’s how to claim yours:

First of all, do check if you are eligible for the programme. Applicants need to be a Malaysian citizen, aged 21 years and above as of 2023 and either a recipient of the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) based on record as of 7th November 2023, or have an annual income of RM100,000 and below based on the Inland Revenue Board’s (IRM) record as of 15th July 2023.

Luckily, those turning 21 at the end of 2023 are also eligible to redeem the RM100 e-cash. But, if you were a recipient of the earlier eBeliaRahmah programme, you are unfortunately exempt from the eMADANI programme.

Malaysians who are eligible can apply for the eMADANI credit from 4th December 2023 to 20th February 2024 from four different e-wallet providers, including Maybank MAE, Setel, ShopeePay and Touch ‘n Go eWallet. Some of these e-wallet providers will also offer additional incentives in their apps such as vouchers, cashback, discounts and reward points, much like what ShoppePay has done.

After their application has been reviewed, recipients will reportedly receive their e-cash between 24 hours to five days. They will also be notified about the status of their application through their chosen e-wallet provider.

However, do note that application for the eMADANI credit can only be made once per applicant and only from one e-wallet. The e-cash is valid until 29th February, but it can only be used for physical payments, and neither can you use it for peer-to-peer transfers, cash outs, app-related purchases/payments or for any online transactions.

Well, there is no time like the present to apply, not to mention the potential benefits that come with applying for the eMADANI credit. So, what are you waiting for?
