Never had the chance to see Madonna performing live on stage? Fret not.

According to Madonna’s official website, the Queen of Pop will be making a stop at National Stadium in Singapore next year as part of her Rebel Heart Tour.

Madonna is recognised as the best-selling female recording artiste of all time by Guinness World Records. The Grammy award-winner was also listed as the best-selling female rock artiste of the 20th century and the 2nd best-selling female artiste in the US by The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). She was ranked at number 2, behind only The Beatles, on the Billboard Hot 100 All-Time Top Artistes. The Queen of Pop was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on her 1st year of eligibility.

Details regarding her concert in Singapore were revealed on her official website, stating that the pre-sale of the tickets would begin today (17th December) at 10am.

However, The New Paper reported that the local organisers have yet to confirm the official date of the concert. If the concert date is confirmed, the show will mark the first time that Madonna is performing in Singapore.

The 57-year-old singer previously planned to bring her “Girlie Show Tour” to the country in 1993, but the concert was banned by the authorities.

UPDATE (17th December, 3:16pm):

In a report by Channel News Asia, Madonna may have called off her concert in Singapore.

The pop icon was originally scheduled to perform in Singapore on 28th February 2016, but a quick check on her official website showed that the Singapore date has been removed. Madonna’s fan club also sent out an email to fans saying that the information on her concert details was “inaccurate”.

It said:

If you have purchased an Icon Live Pass for this pre-sale offer, we will automatically refund your order.

“Thank you for your support of Madonna, and we will endeavor to improve our service to avoid such errors in the future,” it added.

Organiser IMC Live Group has declined to comment about the possible cancellation of the concert, but police told Channel News Asia that an application for a public entertainment licence to organise Madonna’s concert has been received and is currently being assessed.

Meanwhile, the 57-year-old singer is still confirmed to be performing in a few other Asian countries including Hong Kong, Tokyo, Taipei, Macau, Manila, and Bangkok as part of her Rebel Heart Tour.

Stay tuned to Madonna’s official website for more updates.
