There’s plenty to celebrate this 2024. We saw Miss Sandra Lim, who represented Malaysia in Miss Universe, place in the top 30 just recently, making the whole nation proud of her astonishing achievement!
Earlier this month, Miss Rashmita Rasindran competed in the Miss Charm pageant in Vietnam, representing Malaysia and scored first place! Let’s get to know her more and jump into these 5 fun facts you may not know about our Miss Charm:
1. She’s A UNIMAS Alumni
After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in English for Global Communications at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Rashmita has relied on her knowledge to better guide her in the pageant industry. She once said, “In the pageant industry, education is the cornerstone of purpose. A beauty queen needs to be a spokesperson and a leader, and my education has given me the abilities I need for this position.”
2. The First Malaysian To Win Miss Charm
Yup, you heard that right. Rashmita is the only Malaysian to win the Miss Charm crown! We hope to see more from this beauty queen in the near future.
3. Miss Rashmita Is A Known Social Activist
Prior to joining beauty pageants, the 24-year-old founded an organisation that focuses on women’s empowerment called “Femmer Force Forward.” Her goal is to speak out about domestic violence women face while lending a helping hand to those struggling.
4. She Believes In Gender Equality
The beauty once said, “Women are currently perceived as weak and in need of help; in other words, we are always seen as helpless damsels. I want to educate people about women and help them see them as equals to change their perceptions.”
5. Other Pageants The Beauty Queen Joined
Besides this pageant, Miss Rashmita has also joined different beauty competitions. The most notable one was Puteri Mutiara 2023, where she competed against other Malaysians, won first place and was nominated as Malaysia’s representative for Miss Charm 2024.
