Ramadhan 2022: 10 Places To Buka Puasa With Your Loved Ones

Buka Puasa is the word of the month. You’ve fasted the whole day, now it’s time to roll up your sleeves and break fast to a show-stopping spread of Malaysian delights.

Of course, Ramadan cuisine is best enjoyed with friends, family, or work colleagues. Regardless of our differences in religious views and culture, food never fails to bring everyone together. In view of this, here is our list of buffets in the Klang Valley for iftar.

1. Bazaar Malam, Flock at W Kuala Lumpur

Celebrating the holy month of Ramadan doesn’t mean you have to stay austere all the time, why not break your fast in a classy yet hippie hotel where you can let loose yourself while enjoying your Iftah with your closest friends and family. Highlighting dishes from every state, Chef Suhalmi and Chef Haznizam put together their family recipes yet with their own twist to create an elevated version of signature dishes in this Ramadhan buffet dinner. Iconic dishes include Daging Salai, a smoked beef dish famously known in Negeri Sembilan, Rendang Tok from Perak, Ikan Mayong Assam Pedas from Johor and the Sabah Slipper Lobster Roti John! Oh, do save some space for their colourful dessert station! From Guava Mousse, Papaya Panna Cotta, Red Dragon Fruit Torte, Jackfruit Sago Gula Melaka, Sarawak Layer Pineapple Cake to the most beloved D24 Durian Cheese Cake, pastry Chef Kevin Yong knows how to play around with local fruits to surprise your taste buds!

2. The Chow Kit Kitchen & Bar – An Ormond Hotel 

Nothing beats a good “Kampung” meal that brings back all the nostalgic memories, reminding you of all the soul-warming meals your grandparents used to make. Don’t worry if you can’t Balik Kampung this year as The Chow Kit – an Ormond Hotel is eager to bring you back to your hometown with its Citarasa Ramadhan menu inspired by familiar flavours of home served ‘dulang’ style. Their classic starters, consisting of Malay kuih muih, red dates and charcoal grilled Satay Ayam, may look simple but are sure to tantalise your appetite! Iconic dishes including Curry Udang cooked in fragrant coconut curry with mixed vegetables, Rendang Dendeng which is a traditional braised beef tenderloin in aromatic rendang sauce, Burung Puyuh Berempah, an asian-spiced marinated quail and Golden Sea Bass that serve with sweet and spicy mango salsa. Just so you’re aware, they offer two vegetable options – Tempoyak Daun Kayu or Kacang Botol Sambal Belacan for you to choose from.

6. Selera Kampong Enak at Shook!, The Starhill Dining

For this season’s Sajian Istimewa Buffet, food lovers are invited to feast and breakfast over a selection of seafood (Tiger Prawn, Mud Crab, Green Lips Mussels) and international delicacies, authentic Malaysian favourites (Daging Rendang Minang, Kambing Masak Kurma), Asian delicacies and also Middle Eastern classics.

Enjoy classic dishes such as Rendang Daging Tok, Ayam Bakar and Sup Ekor. Of course, there will be plenty of hawker favourites and carving stations to explore. As for a finisher, they’ve got you covered with sweets and desserts!

For this coming puasa month, Tony Roma’s has whipped up a new menu that captures the spirit of Ramadhan for meat lovers. The main 3 highlights are the Festive Beef Ribs Platter (10-pieces of ribs), the Festive Lamb Slabs Platter (3 slabs of lamb), and T-Bone Steak.

If you’re craving for authentic Malaysian cuisine, this is the place to satisfy your food cravings.

airasia’s Santan

As Ramadan begins, Santan has launched their latest menu aptly titled Ramadan Syawal Fiesta. This latest menu has taken two classic dishes and given it a twist! Sample either their Nasi Lemak Goreng Lemongrass Beef & Peanut Sauce or Nasi Lemak Beef Lemongrass Beef & Peanut Sauce. Don’t forget to add their Sambal Kangkung as a side dish and wash it all down with their Sirap Bandung. Also, make sure to end your meal on a sweet note with their Coconut Pudding.

If you’re not a beef eater, simply switch it out with your preferred protein choice to enjoy your meal. If you’re looking for something else, they have added new items to their menu such as Nasi Padang Beef Rendang and Indomee Boneless Chicken. Don’t forget to drop by and check it out!
