Back for its 17th time, Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF) is definitely the perfect place to be for a musical experience of impressive proportions. Filled with culture and heritage, the setting delivers a unique platform for well-known musicians from Asia, Europe, Africa and America to showcase their traditional tunes.

Taking place from June 20th to 22nd, the RWMF schedule includes afternoon workshops, ethno musical lectures, jamming sessions and mini concerts before the evening performances on the main stage.

“Our close working relationship with the RWMF allows us to open the worlds of our consumers to new experiences, the kind that they can bring back to the city and share with their friends,” said Jessie Chuah, Marketing Manager of Heineken Malaysia.

Sticking to its pledge to keep the rainforest green, recycling bins have been set up throughout festival grounds by Heineken enabling festival goers to dispose of empty Heineken cans easily. Moving on to the music, this year RWMF features a spectacular lineup including acts like UK’s Blackbeard’s Tea Party, Italy’s Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino, Ukrainian band DakhaBrakha and Singapore’s Ding Yi Music Company as well as Canadian Gordie MacKeeman & His Rhythm Boys.

Fans can also expect a unique performance by Horomona Horo, a Maori musician who has combined the use of traditional instruments of Taonga puoro (singing treasures) within a diverse range of cultural and musical forms.
