Who knew that Rain (real name Jung Jihoon) was supposed to star in one of the “X-Men” movie? Not us, certainly.
But his “Uhm Bok Dong” co-star Lee Beom Soo revealed the surprising news during an interview with South Korean media Ilgan Sports.
Lee, who is also one of the producers for the film, divulged that Rain was cast in one of the mutant movies, but declined the request. He said, “Rain was actually cast in an ‘X-Men’ movie. They asked him to start filming in July but the filming of ‘Uhm Bok Dong’ was supposed to last until the end of August, so he (stayed) with our movie. I was really thankful for his commitment.”
He also only had kind words for the actor-cum-singer. He spoke highly of him, exclaiming, “I got to discover some new sides of Rain through this production. He’s very genuine and passionate when it comes to acting.”
Rain’s sincerity also shined through, as Lee explained that he changed the way he thought of the top star. “I used to think he was just a celebrity, but I’ve been noticing that he has the aura of an actor,” he expressed.
We’re not sure which “X-Men” movie it is, but according to the timeline revealed, it is highly possible that it’s “The New Mutants“. Filming for the movie is slated to begin in July.
