Local influencer Qiu Wen (秋雯) has not met anyone new since breaking up with YouTuber Lim Shang Jin (林尚进). She’s made her type clear, but apparently there still isn’t anyone who fits the bill. However, that doesn’t mean she didn’t take the chance to enjoy her Valentine’s Day!
Qiu Wen decided to splurge on herself this year and went for a luxurious dinner. Unfortunately, it failed to live up to her expectation.
Yesterday (15th February), Qiu Wen posted a photo of herself visiting a high-end restaurant for Valentine’s Day on social platform Little Red Book (小红书). The place looked lavish and the food looked very much like the kind served for fine dining. Regretfully, the experience had only made her realise she didn’t quite enjoy fine dining.
“For me, fine dining is all about (having) rare and special food in one place,” she shared. “I didn’t feel (this food) was particularly delicious, nor did I (think it) bad.” Qiu Wen explained that the food served had been for vegetarians, given that she was one. Sadly, it failed to impress. “I just don’t think it’s worth it,” she said. “Maybe I just haven’t eaten (fine dining) that is really delicious and worth it.”
Qiu Wen did commend the restaurant for providing the experience however. Apparently, the restaurant she visited took care to explain each dish to their patrons, allowing them to understand the tale behind them. Yet, it wasn’t enough to convince her of its worth. “There are 8 courses in total, leaving (me) very full,” she wrote. “It took 3 hours, which is a bit of a time waster. (Having it) once in a while is ok. The price plus wine is about RM1000 per person.”
After experiencing fine dining, Qiu Wen is sure she prefers her own usual meals. One netizen opined that having mixed rice was better than fine dining, and to some surprise, Qiu Wen shared that her friends felt the same way.
Well, there’s no denying that Qiu Wen likes to get the best of the best for herself. After all, she has shared how much maintaining her beauty costs! However, when it comes to food, she clearly prefers something more down to earth.
