#PSY: “Gangnam Style” Singer Is Ready For An Epic Comeback This Dec!

Despite being globally known for his 2012 pop song “Gangnam Style“, South Korean rapper/singer PSY is certainly not a one-hit wonder.

The singer recently surprised fans by announcing on his official social media accounts including Facebook and Twitter that he will return to the music scene with a new album this December.

PSY New Album 2015

He made the announcement along with a cartoon graphic that shows that his new music will be released on 1st December 2015. The photo also came with the caption: “#newPSYshit20151201”.

This album will mark his first comeback since releasing “Gentleman” in April 2013 and “Hangover” (ft. Snoop Dogg) in June 2014. It will be the follow-up album to “PSY 6 (Six Rules), Part 1”, his 2012 EP that featured collaborations with BIGBANG‘s G-Dragon, Korean hip-hop duo Leessang, and more.

YouTube video

Known domestically for his humorous videos and stage performances, PSY catapulted to global stardom in 2012 with his addictive hit single “Gangnam Style” and its invisible horse-riding dance. Even though the singer has long retired promotions for the song, the music video remains the most-watched video after busting YouTube’s video views counter with more than 2.15 billion views in 2014.

According to his talent agency YG Entertainment, PSY vows to return “to his roots” with this comeback album. Sources close to the singer said:

He wrote a song that he is happy with, and that feels like PSY. He plans to release it in Korea first.

Further details regarding his new album are kept under wraps, but stay tuned to our site or PSY’s official Facebook page for more timely updates.
