Abandoned places are often filled with so many mysteries. Why were they abandoned? We’ve heard plenty of stories about abandoned buildings, resorts, and even theme parks in Malaysia. Some were abandoned due to poor management while others remained a mystery.

We also heard stories of abandoned vehicles like the Foodpanda bike that was collecting dust after the supposed owner left it at LaLaport Bukit Bintang City Centre (BBCC). Now, another mystery has arisen as someone shared a car that was left behind at a mall for 11 years.

SOURCE: FACEBOOK

Yesterday (Tuesday, 7th March), the admin for the Malaysia Shopping Mall Facebook page posted 2 photos of a Proton Savvy car that they claimed to have been abandoned at Empire Shopping Gallery’s parking lot since 2011. The second photo provided by the admin showed a closer look at the vehicle’s road tax sticker which hasn’t been renewed since 2011.

The creepy image further proved that the car was left unclaimed. While the post hasn’t gone viral on many social media platform, it did catch the attention of netizens who came up with theories and speculations as to what possibly could have happened to the owner. One netizen went straight to assuming that the owner may have passed away or otherwise someone would’ve claimed the vehicle.

Others came up with darker theories based on the year the car was abandoned. One Facebook user speculated that the owner may be one of the passengers of the missing MH370 flight while another suggested that the owner may have been a victim of the major explosion that occurred at that very shopping centre in September of that year. There was also one netizen that suggested that the owner “never left”.

At the time of writing, the Facebook page’s admin has yet to give an update on the abandoned Proton Savvy. It is also currently unknown if Empire Shopping Gallery is aware of the immobilised car in the parking lot after all these years. Guess we’ll have to classify this case as an unsolved mystery.

What do you think happened to the owner?
