Behind his calm demeanour on the court, national badminton player Lee Zii Jia (李梓嘉) has proven his quirky side many times, like when he joked with his staff members. Of course, fans enjoy seeing his more relaxed side – even if they do clown on him for it.
Recently, the athlete joined his fellow Paris Olympics and Paralympics medalists in a meeting with the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim. As shown in photos, all the athletes, including Lee Zii Jia, appeared at the gathering dressed in semi-formal attire, donning button-up shirts with blazers and slacks. Minister of Youth and Sports of Malaysia Hannah Yeoh was also present at the meeting, along with Datuk Stuart Ramalingam dan Dato’ Mirnawan Nawawi.

Netizens have since reacted to the meeting, thanking our national athletes for their achievements and contributions to the country. However, the photos also garnered the attention of Lee Zii Jia fans, who can’t help but laugh at one particular detail of his outfit – his pants. Many joked about how short his pants legs were, noting how much of his ankles were exposed, even when he was standing up.
Fans also began cracking jokes about Lee Zii Jia’s ill-fitted pants, quipping that he might be preparing to walk through a flood. Others teased him, saying he might have accidentally worn pants from his childhood. Some also joked that he’s purposely wearing those pants to show off his height. Funnily enough, some netizens also realised that Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim was on his tip-toes when he stood next to Lee Zii Jia.
Despite the jokes, many fans still praised Lee Zii Jia’s visual in a suit, saying he looked dapper. Perhaps this is a good reminder for his team to start looking for better-fitting pants for the almost 190 cm athlete.
