It’s quite common for pregnant women to have all kinds of cravings. Some would have food cravings, like for sweets or certain exotic delicacies. As the father of the baby and husband to the wife, the responsibility falls on the man to fulfil her needs.
However, some cravings are just too outrageous. One anonymous man wrote his story on the IIUMC Confessions website where people would share their stories they wouldn’t reveal anywhere else. His confession titled, “Mengidam Bau Ex” (“Craving For An Ex’s Scent”), tells the story of how his wife’s craving turned out to be something much worse than he could’ve imagined.
Using the pen name Aril, the man recalls the time his wife Sara (not her real name) was craving her ex’s scent. Confused but keeping his calm, Aril asked for the name of the perfume or cologne her ex used, to which she claimed to not remember. But, she allegedly remembered the scent. Being a perfume collector himself, Aril got his wife to smell everything from his collection but to no avail.
He tried other ways to satisfy her cravings, like taking her out on dates, but the baby’s mama was insistent she wanted to smell her ex. Disheartened, Aril told Sara to contact her ex and ask for an answer. The father-to-be accompanied his wife to see her ex-lover, Alip, but for some reason, he couldn’t smell anything on him. This incident caused him to be suspicious of his wife.
In the second part of the story, Aril suspected something was wrong since their meeting with Alip. After checking Sara’s phone, he discovered that his wife had been having an affair with her ex-boyfriend and that the craving was just a cover-up. Enraged, he confronted her and discovered that it had been going on since the start of the New Year.
As anyone would expect, the baby Aril’s wife was carrying is not his. After taking a DNA test, the unborn baby was indeed Alip’s. The story has been shared on Twitter with netizens criticising the cheating wife for fooling her husband just so she could have an affair with her ex-boyfriend.
In the third and fourth part of his confessions, Aril revealed that he has since divorced his wife and is content with being single again.
