Earlier this month, the public was shocked following reports that a body was found in the car of American singer David Anthony Burke, better known as d4vd. However, new details about the case have emerged, sparking outrage towards the star.
For those unaware of the case, on 8th September 2025 (Monday), a decomposing body was found in a bag in the front trunk of a Tesla registered to d4vd. Police discovered the bag after workers at a Los Angeles tow yard, where the car was, reported that a foul odour was coming from the vehicle. Investigators were unable to determine the identity of the victim due to the decomposed state of the body.
However, a recent update to the case revealed the identity of the body as 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. The Californian teen had been reported missing since April 2024 and was last seen in Lake Elsinore. Shockingly, Celeste’s mother, who helped identify her daughter, said she had a feeling that the teen was the unknown victim because Celeste had a boyfriend named David. This revelation led to grim allegations about d4vd and Celeste’s relationship.
According to the claims, the 20-year-old singer had been in a relationship with the teen from as early as 2022. Fans in d4vd’s Discord channel have also allegedly referred to Celeste as the singer’s girlfriend. Additionally, a report also alleged that the two had matching tattoos on their finger, depicting the word “Shhh”. There are also social media posts claiming that Celeste appeared in pictures with d4vd.
While the allegations remain unconfirmed, they sparked outrage amongst netizens. Many are now calling d4vd a paedophile and a groomer. His fans have also denounced their support, and singer Kali Uchis revealed that she’s removing her collaboration track with d4vd from streaming sites. At the same time, netizens are criticising those in his Discord channel, arguing that they should’ve raised concern about d4vd and Celeste’s relationship.
The case is still under investigation. Reports also speculate that d4vd will cancel the rest of his ongoing world tour. Whatever may come out of this case, we hope the truth will prevail.
