If you’re a Malaysian TVB fan, you already know that one of the year’s biggest dramas, “The Heir To The Throne (家族荣誉之继承者)” was filmed here in Malaysia. After a year of waiting, the drama finally premiered on 13th May (Monday)! The project, also named “Modern Dynasty 2”, is notable for having a stellar lineup, including Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼), Raymond Lam (林峯) and Him Law (羅子溢).
The series is centred around the main character, Ho Yee, as she takes up the new role as the heir to the family business while facing trials and tribulations. Malaysian fans are particularly excited for “The Heir To The Throne” as a large part of the drama is set in our home country. While we can’t share much information on the exact filming locations, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur did reveal in a recent Instagram post that the drama will have scenes in their mall.
Besides Malaysian landmarks, you can also spot several Malaysian stars making cameos in the drama. Local influencer Jestinna Kuan is one of those lucky stars, confirming the news after some fans noticed her in a scene with Raymond. The public figure gushed about the actors in her Instagram post, saying the experience felt unreal. Local actress Feon Lai (黎艳琼) also made a cameo in the project, starring alongside Charmaine. The Malaysian said the actress was very kind and even asked about local delicacies.
Homegrown star Joey Leong (梁祖仪) was also in the drama, playing Charmaine’s assistant. She admitted it was a lot of pressure to act beside the icon but said she gained a lot of knowledge from the filming. Actress and singer Ruby Yap (叶俞均) also took part in the filming – but according to China Press, she’ll only start appearing in a later episode. Nevertheless, the star has already shared photos taken with the main cast during the filming.
More local stars have likely made cameos in the drama – so keep your eyes peeled to see who was part of this blockbuster project!
