Whenever K-Pop fans visit Seoul, a.k.a the birthplace of K-Pop, they usually have a long list of places they want to check out when in town. However, if you’re an ARMY, you might want to add another spot to the list – Cafe Far Ben. This newly opened cafe belongs to the younger sister of the one and only RM of BTS (방탄소년단)!
Cafe Far Ben is the brainchild of RM’s younger sister, Kim Kyungmin (김경민), and had only recently opened its door on 1st July, so it’s very new. Nevertheless, many loyal BTS fans have already shown love to the new spot, located in the Seongsu district of Seoul. The cafe is also in a prime location on the main street and is within walking distance from the 1MILLION dance studio.
Of course, ARMYs aren’t the only ones who showed love and support for the new cafe. RM, a.k.a Kim Namjoon (김남준), also sent a congratulatory flower wreath to Cafe Far Ben to celebrate his sister’s new business. Jimin’s (박지민) father, who owns a cafe in Busan, also sent a flower wreath to congratulate the cafe on its opening. Both flower wreaths are now on display at the cafe.
So far, fans who visited Cafe Far Ben said that the cafe proves that the Kim siblings have similar tastes as the vintage interior adds a cosy feel. The open concept and high ceiling make the cafe a great spot to take Instagram-worthy photos. The cafe’s menu has also received praise, particularly for its coffee and delicious desserts, which include a menu item of ice cream topped with rhubarb jam.
If you want to visit Cafe Far Ben, head to the Seongsu station on Seoul’s green line (Line 2) and go out from exit 3. Then, immediately turn right and follow the main street down to the cafe. The address is 309-148 Seongsu-dong 2(i)-ga (서울 성동구 성수동2가 309-148).
