#PeterRabbit: “Suicide Squad” Actress Margot Robbie To Join Voice Cast

Australian actress Margot Robbie will be voicing a bunny in the Columbia Pictures’ adaption of “Peter Rabbit”.

Directed by Will Gluck, the upcoming film stars James Corden as Peter while Rose Byrne as Bea. It was also reported that “Star Wars” star Daisy Ridley, Elizabeth Debicki, and Domnhall Gleeso have joined the voice cast.

“Peter Rabbit” is based on Beatrix Potter best-selling children books of the same name and the lead character was named after a pet rabbit the writer had as a child called Peter Piper. First published in 1902, “The Tale of Peter Rabbit” has sold more than 40 million copies worldwide and as of 2008, the series has sold more than 151 million copies in 35 languages.

Robbie just wrapped production on “Goodbye Christopher Robin”, a film based on “Winnie-the-Pooh”, and she was most recently seen in “Suicide Squad”, “The Legend of Tarzan”, and “Whiskey Tango Foxtrot”. She will also lend her voice to DreamWorks’ “Larrikins”.

“Peter Rabbit” is expected to star production in January 2017 and it is slated for an April 2018 release.

The film will be made at Animal Logic in Sydney with the support of the Australian Government through Screen Australia and Screen NSW and in collaboration with Sony Pictures Animation.
