The music video for Ariana Grande’s latest song “Thank U, Next” is now trending at number 1 on YouTube. Well, why wouldn’t it? Everyone is loving the song and all the references it has on today’s pop culture as well as Ariana’s exes – including Pete Davidson.

That’s right! According to an insider, Ariana Grande’s former fiance Pete Davidson reportedly loves the song and all of the nice shout-outs from the “Dangerous Woman” singer.

“Pete was really moved by Ariana’s ‘Thank U Next’ video. He found it really touching that she included such a sweet and loving shout out to him. Pete wasn’t sure what to expect, but Ariana is a total sweetheart so he wasn’t bracing himself for anything bad or nasty, but still, he wasn’t expecting anything quite so loving,” a source close to the comedian told Hollywood Life.

In the video, when Ariana is flipping her own “Mean Girls” inspired Burn Book where she mentions 3 of her former flames including Ricky Alvarez, Big Sean, and, of course, Pete. On Pete’s page, Ariana wrote “I love u always”, “Sry I dipped”, as well as “HUUUUGE.”

“The fact Ariana drew a large heart around his name, and wrote ‘l luv u always’ and ‘Huuuuuge’ gives him hope that they may still be able to work things out—which, is something Pete would love, with all his heart,” the source adds.

“Pete was really touched by the fact Ariana included an apology to him for the break-up, and he loves that it was so subtle that most people would miss it if they blinked. Pete has watched the video a whole ton of times since it came out, and he noticed Ariana had written “Sry I dipped” above his name immediately, and it made his heart soar.”

In case y’all didn’t know, ‘dipped’ means left, so in this context, Ariana is apologising to Pete for leaving him – which means she was the one who dumped him.

“Pete’s never stopped loving Ariana, and the video has strengthened those feelings even more, in addition to his desire to win her back again in the future,” the source said.

“Thank U, Next” broke the record for most-watched video in YouTube within 24 hours, officially achieving over 50.3 million views, surpassing by a large margin the 45.9 million YouTube views of BTS’s “Idol” video, the previous record-holder.

Directed by Hannah Lux Davis, the video made references to the films “Mean Girls”, “Bring It On”, “13 Going on 30”, and “Legally Blonde”.

The video features cameos from singer-songwriter Troye Sivan, YouTube stars Colleen Ballinger and Gabi DeMartino, Mean Girls actors Jonathan Bennett and Stefanie Drummond, and Grande’s former “Victorious” co-stars Elizabeth Gillies, Daniella Monet and Matt Bennett.
