Katy Perry has a story about a big box, ripped pockets, and broken champagne bottles.
The pop star probably had the best Valentine’s Day as her boyfriend Orlando Bloom finally put a ring on her. The couple even took to Instagram to announce their engagement news the following day with some cute captions.
The “American Idol” judge recently stopped by “Jimmy Kimmel Live” where she shared in detail about how her British beau got down on one knee and popped the question. Was the entire execution cute AF? You bet! Did it go as planned? Absolutely not.
“We went to dinner and I thought we were gonna go see some art after but we pulled up to a helicopter,” Perry began. “We had champagne in the helicopter and the (ring) box was in his pocket.”
The 42-year-old actor then handed Perry with a handwritten note with the intention to distract her. There was one problem though – the box was too big. “He’s pulling out this box that’s too big for his coat pocket, and it rips his coat pocket and his elbow goes into the champagne,” the 34-year-old singer added.
It all worked out though. “We landed on a rooftop (in Los Angeles) — my whole family was there, and all my friends,” Perry recalled. “He did so well.” When asked about her unique flower-shaped engagement ring, the A-lister shared: “I voiced my opinions.”
