Oriental Kopi is set to mark a significant milestone this Labour Day with an official attempt to achieve a Guinness World Records title for the “Most Servings of Nasi Lemak Sold in 8 Hours.” The record attempt will take place at IOI City Mall, Putrajaya, with an ambitious target of 10,000 servings within the stipulated timeframe.

More than a record-breaking attempt, the initiative reflects a broader aspiration to elevate Malaysia’s beloved national dish onto the global stage. The public is warmly invited to be part of this historic moment and show their support for a culinary icon that represents Malaysia’s rich cultural identity.

Widely regarded as Malaysia’s national dish, nasi lemak transcends cultural and ethnic boundaries, bringing communities together through a shared love for its authentic flavours. This record attempt reflects a broader vision to elevate local cuisine to international recognition. Oriental Kopi intends for this achievement to serve as a definitive statement of Malaysian excellence, creating a global benchmark of quality and scale that inspires culinary capitals around the world to look toward Malaysia with renewed respect and admiration.

To encourage public participation, each serving of nasi lemak will be offered at a special promotional price of RM9.90 during the event, allowing visitors to be part of the record-setting moment while enjoying one of Malaysia’s most beloved dishes at an accessible price point. Every presence and show of support plays a vital role in bringing this world record to life. As a token of appreciation, public who join the challenge to purchase nasi lemak will receive a limited-edition commemorative gold coin, specially produced in conjunction with the world record attempt (while stocks last).

In addition, members of the public who participate in the challenge by purchasing Nasi Lemak will receive a RM2 Oriental Kopi voucher, as a gesture of appreciation for the overwhelming support. Members of the public who purchase five servings in a single transaction will additionally receive an exclusive glass cup (while stocks last), created to mark the occasion and serve as a lasting keepsake of this milestone event. Adding to the excitement, a special lucky draw will be held during the event, offering participants the chance to win a grand prize iPhone 17 Pro, making the experience even more rewarding.

To achieve the target of 10,000 servings within eight hours, the operation will require exceptional efficiency, maintaining an average sales rate of one serving every two seconds. This high-performance benchmark underscores the importance of seamless coordination, operational precision, and consistent quality throughout the event. Notably, this attempt introduces a new record category, with Oriental Kopi as the pioneering brand to initiate and undertake the challenge.
