K-pop boy group OMEGA X has gone through so much over the past 2 years. Ever since their then-company CEO was allegedly caught abusing one of the members, the group and their lawyers have done everything in their power to terminate their contract with Spire Entertainment.

Thankfully, the members won their legal case against their former label and the CEO has since lost her job at the company after they came forward with their stories. Sadly, the nightmare is far from over as the band’s former company released footage of member Hwichan (휘찬) allegedly assaulting the ex-CEO when they were alone, but did it actually happen? Here’s what we know:

Earlier this week, Spire Entertainment released CCTV footage during a press conference supposedly showing Hwichan sexually assaulting his former CEO Kang Seong Hee when he was still signed under the company. The agency accused the singer of touching the CEO while she was comforting him.

Shortly after the allegations made headlines, OMEGA X’s new label IPQ released an official statement along with photos and screenshots to refute the allegations, claiming that the CEO’s story was fabricated and that the footage was heavily edited. According to the statement, it was Kang Seong Hee herself who forced the young idol to touch her. Out of fear of being verbally and physically assaulted, the member obliged her request.

The company claimed that Hwichan was also drunk after attending a forced drinking party by the CEO who wanted to scold the group. Due to this, he eventually fell asleep on the floor where his photo was then taken by Kang Seong Hee to send to the group’s manager. The manager said that they’d pick the idol up but the CEO refused the offer saying that she’d take him. “These behaviours aren’t common for victims of assault,” said IPQ.

It was also alleged that the CEO continued to yell at the passed-out member until he woke up. Again fearing for his safety, he ran away to escape her abuse, only to suffer injuries after falling down the staircase. The idol hid in the restroom on the first floor where he was still being taunted and beaten by the CEO. IPQ also released screenshots of text messages of the alleged incident that day and requested Spire Entertainment to release the full unedited footage.

As seen in the screenshots above, fans were shocked after the statement was released. Many came to the idol’s defence saying that the ex-CEO’s actions were calculated in order to make herself appear as the victim while others brought up the previous cases of OMEGA X being physically, verbally, and mentally abused by their former employer.
