Ombre Under Eye Make Up Is Now A Thing On TikTok & We’re Here For It!

After mascara was abandoned in favour of Vaseline, and the craze on the “W blush” died down, TikTok was quick to come up with a new beauty trend – and believe us when we tell you that it’s worth the hype!

The under eye area is just the hardest spot to cover. Even if you have a great concealer that brightens dark circles, or simply makes you look like you got a great night’s sleep, sometimes, it isn’t convincing. So we were stoked when we recently came across this trend on TikTok! Now, all we need is one more item to elevate our eye make up game – blush!

That’s right! We’re all so fixed on having blush only on our cheeks and nose, but guess what? You can now use it as part of your eye make up, including on the under eye area. We’ve got the deets on how you can nail this ombre under eye make up – and it’s easy-peasy to do!

How To Do It

There are two ways to go about it.

The first is by getting your hands on different shades of concealer and blush. Of course, the best way to carry this out is by opting for liquid blush. This makes the blending easy and brings about a stunning effect.

Start by applying a single dot of your lightest/brightest concealer to each side of the inner corners of your eyes. Then, go for concealers that are a little bit darker for the following two dots. For the third dot, go for a even darker shade – or you could just use your foundation. Lastly, pick up two separate liquid blush colours from the same colour family, placing the darker shade at the very end of the ombre lineup. Now, blend away!

The next step is optional, but it’ll definitely help elevate your look. Klaudia, the trend’s originator, would settle the region with a translucent powder over the concealers, and add a blush-toned powder towards the outer corners of the eyes, where the liquid blush was applied. The result? A brightened under eye look that is delicately diffused and lasts.

The second way to do this is by using just one blush shade.

When makeup artist Spencer released an eight-second video criticizing the concealer-blush fad, the frenzy was born. According to him, you’re missing out if you don’t blend your blush all the way up to your under eye region.

For this method, start with some blush in your inner eye and top it up with your concealer. You can apply directly, or blend some blush and concealer on your hand and then apply it. And that’s it – just blend away! You can choose to add more than one shade of blush from the same family, but this method is for times where you’re in a hurry. Once you’re done, continue your normal makeup routine and add some blush to your cheeks if you still need more pigmentation.

And there you have it. A simple under eye look that goes a long way. Actually, we think it’s an absolutely clever idea and you don’t even need that much colour on your face. But if you’re really in the mood for a burst of colour, you could always use the same technique, but with different blush shades.
