If you’ve been following Oksana Voevodina (or Rihana Petra) on her official IG, the 28-year-old model often shares her daily activities with her one and only son, Tengku Ismail Leon Petra.
Recently, Oksana talked about receiving an unexpected question from her three-year-old child about his estranged Malaysian father. It appears that Ismail has been curious about his dad’s current whereabouts.
In a lengthy post shared on her Instagram, Oksana revealed, “It’s time for the uncomfortable questions. Or – Father’s Day without a father. Everyone in the UK celebrated Father’s Day yesterday. Leon, along with the other children, were preparing a gift for their dads in the kindergarten. But since I carry both the mom and dad’s roles, I also received a gift from Leon for his father, 😜”
“But after giving the gift, Leo asked straight, ‘Where is my dad?'” Oksana further revealed in her post. The Russian beauty admitted that she was taken aback at that moment. But at the same time, she felt that brushing away her son’s curiosity wasn’t going to cut it.
The former beauty queen then said, “I’ve been waiting for this question and I’ve ran through possible answers many times. My main concern was to give a balanced answer to Leo, since he is the only child in the kindergarten with an absent and uninterested father.”
She further added, “I quickly showed Leon on the map where London is and where Malaysia is, and said that his dad lives there – far away (from our place). He couldn’t come here. But then Leon asked – ‘Why doesn’t he call me?’ 😱 I had to get out and tell (him) that the phone is not picking up there, because there is no 5G there yet, so he can’t call in any way.”
Oksana also recounted the time when she personally dealt with the “5G laying project” in Malaysia with her ex-husband. “The project ended up not happening, since we got divorced. So the lack of communication is partly true,” she revealed in her long post. At the end of her post, Oksana expressed, “I think the questions about his dad will not end there. After all, it is very important for a boy to communicate with his father!”
For those in the dark, Oksana made nationwide headlines after she tied the knot to a Malaysian royalty. Their marriage didn’t last long, as they officially got divorced sometime in mid-2019.
