Not Again! Ignorant Dudes Caught Sitting In Women’s KTM Coach

Unfortunately, for women living in Malaysia, extra necessary precautions have to be taken before going anywhere. This is to avoid any conflict – or worse! That’s why it’s most appreciated when public venues have a safe space for women – like women-only parking lots, women’s coaches on trains, and many more.

But when that safe space is no longer safe, what can you do?

Just recently, a post on Reddit sparked a debate among Redditors. The post features a picture of a group of men sitting directly under a sign that says: “This is a coach for women. Women only.” The post’s caption says: “What’s your take on men who can’t read?“.

The faces of the men were covered with a clown emoji, showing that they are indeed clowns. Next to the main image, another picture was posted of a policewoman going through the train – and we can deduce that the ignorant men were eventually kicked out. Kudos to the police!

Scrolling through the comment section, we found many netizens expressing anger at the men and their actions. One comment reads: “Of course, they can read, they just chose not to follow it. Act stupid, live longer.” But many were more measured in their response, saying that the men probably didn’t notice the sign due to a lack of awareness.

Whatever the case, the underlying problem in society of a lack of respect for women-only spaces remains. There will likely be more men sitting in the women’s only coach in the future. And of course, this isn’t the first time this has happened.

What do you think all of us should do to address this issue? To read more, check out the post on Reddit here.
