Initially teased by Dododots’ Instagram page on April Fools’ Day (1st April 2025), netizens questioned whether it might be a prank, but it turned out to be an actual product! The playful design is a great addition to the already diverse range of patches from the Malaysian brand, aiming to transform the often-dreaded experience of dealing with pimples into a more lighthearted one.
In a recent Instagram post, Dododots humorously addressed the inspiration for their newest drop, stating, “Remember how your ex just wouldn’t leave? Text after text, song after tragic song? Well, meet Your Ex — a cockroach-shaped pimple patch designed to stick around for the right reasons”. Despite the creepy crawly design, people are resonating with the joke, adding an amusing twist to skincare routines.
Since its launch on 4th April 2025, fellow Malaysians have been sharing on social media their experience with the patches, sharing selfies of the product on their face. Twitter user (@/hannabunnyb) shared her selfie with a cheeky caution, “Dododots made cockroach acne patches, but I advise you to use them with caution, as you might be slapped by the people around you”.
Amusingly, netizens have quibbled on their thoughts of the newest Dododots pimple patches with one Twitter user (@/hyozyozone) commenting, “Sis, I suggest you use the Ridsect setting spray”. On the launch post on the Dododots Instagram page, other users were quick to chime in on the hype. One Instagram user (@/u_are__me) comments, “Should’ve stayed as an April Fools’ Joke”.
