“No Tauge Means No Tauge!”: Customer Leaves Tauge On Table As Punishment

Most people wouldn’t make a big fuss about receiving the wrong order when dining in as they can always correct the server. However, there have been multiple cases of customers being petty or even furious about not receiving their order – to the point where one was willing to drive all the way to complain about the staff’s mistakes.

This customer was definitely not satisfied when he received his order at a restaurant he recently dined in. Instead of being civil and asking the server amend his order, he decided it was best to teach them a lesson. Here’s what he did:

Over the weekend, a netizen who goes by Albert Lai posted his dining experience at an undisclosed restaurant on the Persatuan Tak Makan Tauge Satu Malaysia (PTT1M) Facebook group. As the name suggested, the customer is not someone who is fond of beansprout or tauge so naturally, he would not want them included in his meal.

Unfortunately for him, the restaurant did not get his order right. As seen in the photo above, he carefully removed the tauge from the fried noodle meal and placed them on the table as a sign of “protest”, as he called it. “I usually would correct them but I felt sorry for the business cause there were no customers so this is me protesting. Now, you have to clean the table. Listen carefully next time: No tauge means no tauge.”

The dissatisfied customer claimed that he specifically told the server that he would not want tauge in his food. He then put the blame on whoever got his order wrong, whether it was the server or the cook. “Malay shops don’t have chopsticks so I had no choice but to use a fork”. Albert’s post received a lot of mixed reactions from netizens. Some were amused by his level of pettiness while others thought the mess he made was unnecessary.

While we understand Albert’s frustration, we have to admit that placing the tauge on the table for the server to clean up was not necessarily the right call either. What do you think?
