Have you ever fantasised about being in an action movie? Drifting looks cool in movies like “Fast & Furious” or any of the “James Bond” blockbusters. Driving your car as fast as you can to escape from or chasing enemies sure seems like an awesome life to have.

In reality however, this act is extremely dangerous and should only be attempted in a controlled environment like a race car track supervised by professionals. But some people just want to have too much fun, like this driver caught drifting on TikTok.

TikTok user @mahadewiaris87 posted a video on her account showing her friend posing at the side of the road in Genting Highlands. The two friends were simply just enjoying themselves when suddenly a loud sound could be heard from afar. We then see a Nissan car drifting down the road, scaring the girls.

The girl in the video quickly moved away to safety while the driver continued to drift down the road. The car’s loud engine could still be heard from afar. In the video, the user captioned, “That’s crazy! Can you actually drift like that as you please?.” The TikTok post has since gained 427.4k views and 37.8k likes.

Netizens reacted to the video with some commenting that the driver may be a professional while others are condemning the act of drifting on a public road as dangerous and could harm those nearby. A few even tagged The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) to investigate this issue.

Despite being shocked and scared for their safety, @mahadewiaris87 posted a follow up video of the previous post with a different (and funny) caption. She captioned the second video, “When you’re having fun but someone was rushing to go to the bathroom,” basically making light of the situation to possibly indicate that she and her friends were fine after the incident.

Even though no one got hurt, drifting on a public road is still considered as reckless driving and could potentially cause harm to the driver, passengers and other drivers. So far, there has been no further update from the TikTok user nor is there any info on whether police have already caught wind of the dangerous act.
