Amazon MGM Studios and Prime Video have unveiled the first official trailer for Madden, an upcoming biographical drama starring Nicolas Cage as legendary NFL head coach and broadcasting icon John Madden, alongside Christian Bale as Maverick Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis.
Directed and co-written by David O. Russell (American Hustle, Silver Linings Playbook), the film explores Madden’s transition from a Super Bowl-winning head coach into the definitive voice of American football and the creator of EA Sports’ groundbreaking Madden NFL video game franchise.
The newly released preview highlights Cage’s dramatic physical transformation into the larger-than-life sports figure, capturing Madden’s charismatic, unfiltered commentary style and his dynamic partnership with Davis. Beyond the gridiron, the story examines his personal life alongside his wife, Virginia, and his collaboration with tech entrepreneur Trip Hawkins as they set out to revolutionize sports gaming.
The high-profile ensemble cast features Kathryn Hahn as Virginia Madden, John Mulaney as EA founder Trip Hawkins, alongside Sienna Miller and comedian Shane Gillis. Madden is scheduled for a limited theatrical run starting November 11, 2026, before making its global streaming premiere on Prime Video on November 18, 2026.
