The current implementation of the conditional movement control order (CMCO 2.0) is a necessary inconvenience, given the spike of Covid-19 cases in Malaysia.

Everyday, we see outbreaks happening at more local hotspots and today is no different. The latest cases in Klang Valley came from Tesco Extra Mutiara Damansara, INTI College Subang, as well as Church of the Sacred Heart.

1. Tesco Extra Mutiara Damansara, Petaling Jaya

In a statement posted on Tesco Malaysia’s socials last night, the hypermarket informed that an intern working at the Mutiara Damansara branch had tested positive for Covid-19. He was last seen at the apparel section on 11th October and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital.

2. INTI College Subang

Students at INTI College were notified after a non-academic staff tested positive on 13th October. Those who had dined at the campus cafeteria located at Block A (Uncle Chong Cafe) from 5th – 9th October, between 12pm – 2pm, are advised to contact Student Services at 017-220 4090.

An attendee for a morning Tamil mass on 27th September tested positive for Covid-19 on 12th October. According to reports, the person was asymptomatic during the Sunday church service.

Malaysiakini also noted that the following locations had also been affected:

  • Desa Puteri Rawang
  • Kampung Lela, Kuala Pegang, Kedah
  • Taman Mergong Indah, Alor Setar, Kedah
  • Taman Pertama, Pokok Sena, Kedah
  • Lahad Datu Bus Station
