In this year alone, many have gotten their wages cut or even lost their jobs due to the outspread of Covid-19.

Recently, a picture of a job vacancy at a Nasi Lemak stall offering a RM1800 wage per month, has stirred some discussion among netizens comparing it to minimum wage at other companies.

The photo was posted by a Twitter user, @sengfoo88,showing a vacant job post for a Nasi Lemak stall keeper at Sunway Mas, which offers a surprising minimum wage of RM1500 to RM1800. This gained the attention of netizens who claimed that the wage offered is more than what other well-known companies are paying.

Some of them even compared it with their own salary, stating that they are being paid lower despite working “well-paying jobs”. Check out their reactions below:

My entry salary is the lower half of that range, working as dekstop artist at a MULTI-NATIONAL company with around 50 ringgit increment per year TOPS!

Back in February, FMT reported that a study by recruitment firm Hays Asia revealed that Malaysian employees are at the top of the list in terms of being unhappy with their salaries. Since this was before the pandemic, we can only imagine that the situation has gotten worse now.

Seems like a lot of people are agreeing that this Nasi Lemak stall is paying more than the entry-level wage of some well-known companies. Share with us what you think!
