Netizens Astounded By Abandoned RM69 Million “Mini Jungle” Mansion Near KLCC

It’s not unusual to see abandoned houses put up for sale, even if it’s been uninhabited for decades. One famous bungalow at Bukit Gasing made headlines last year after it was finally sold to a buyer for RM4.4 million. Netizens were surprised that someone would buy the eerie-looking and supposedly haunted property but still congratulated the new owner for hitting the jackpot on the house’s reduced price.

Speaking of abandoned houses, this estate in Kuala Lumpur has gone viral recently not necessarily for its untouched state but for the price tag, which left Malaysians speechless. Is it really worth it? Let’s find out:

Apparently this “mini jungle” is located not too far from the Petronas Twin Towers. Over the long weekend, a netizen who goes by @/JatIkhwan posted a photo of a 0.36-acre property that’s currently being listed for RM69 million or RM4,500 per square foot. As seen in the photos above, the mansion, which has been enveloped by lush and overgrown greenery is located right behind the Le Nouvel KLCC Residents which is also within walking distance from Suria KLCC and Avenue K.

The majestic yet mysterious piece of land has left many bewildered, wondering why it cost RM69 million and if it really is worth the price. Some even started coming up with theories about the house’s origin and how it came to be in the state it is today. Numerous netizens speculated that the owner refused to move or sell their land to make room for urban development.

As for whether or not the land is actually worth RM69 million, some argued that the price is reasonable given the location as the value of location usually outweighs the size of the land itself, especially if it’s in KL. Others believe that it’s not even worth RM6.9 million.

According to iProperty, land prices may vary in the KLCC region; some sources state that land costs as much as RM 1,100 per square foot, or around RM 4,782,840 per acre, so perhaps this info could give a better understanding of whether or not a property is overpriced.

Regardless if this “mini jungle” mansion is worth its price, whoever ends up buying it will surely be good news to the owner. We’ll have to wait and see if the place will keep most of its original form or be redeveloped into something bigger.
