Women have always looked out for each other when it comes to any form of harassment. Previously, a woman took the courage to expose a pervert on the MRT for secretly taking inappropriate photos of the other passengers.
Yesterday (Wednesday, 24th May), a Twitter user who goes by @aphyyxia posted a warning about a foreign man who has allegedly been sexually harassing women at local universities such as Monash University, Sunway University, and Taylors University. The user also warned that the offender frequents Sunway Pyramid to look for his next victims.
According to the netizen, the foreigner is known as Bahaa Soliman/Bahaa Tamer and is currently a student studying at Monash University. In her Twitter thread, the fashion student provided screenshots and videos submitted to her by women who were victims of his attacks.
“He has been stalking girls in real life, being sleek, touching inappropriately, making dirty jokes and winking, and even going for girls who have a boyfriend,” she tweeted. The user also revealed that the perpetrator has approached girls to take zoomed-in photos with his camera.
A victim came forward with her story saying that he offered to help her adjust to life in University. The two went to a dining area where he allegedly choked her and pulled her hair. Another victim shared a similar experience where he hugged her from behind to prevent her from leaving after she felt uncomfortable from their conversation.
Unfortunately, even when confronted, the foreign man still has not changed his ways despite apologising for his behaviour as seen in the screenshots below. It was said that the pervert still frequents other universities in disguise to look for potential victims. According to @aphyyxia, Monash University has yet to take any action against Bahaa.
Netizens showed their support by retweeting the thread in hopes that it will get Monash University’s attention regarding the dire situation. Many also expressed their disgust about the man’s actions and even tagged the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) to apprehend him.
@aphyyxia ended her thread by stating that she along with the victims will file a police report against Bahaa once they gathered enough evidence of his crimes. In the meantime, the Twitter user urged all victims to come forward or DM her if they were harassed by the foreign student.
