One of the cocktail world’s most iconic drinks is getting its annual moment in the spotlight again. Negroni Week returns from 21st to 27th September 2026, bringing a week of creative cocktails, bar takeovers and a good cause to drinking spots around the world.
Now in its 14th year, Negroni Week brings together Campari, Italy’s famous red apéritif, and Imbibe Magazine for a global celebration of the classic cocktail. This year, 82 bars and restaurants across Malaysia are taking part, each putting their own touch on the Negroni while supporting charitable partner Slow Food.
A Cocktail Week with a Bigger Purpose
Negroni Week is not only about discovering a new favorite serve. Proceeds from participating venues will go towards the Negroni Week Fund, distributed by Slow Food to support the hospitality community.
The fund helps projects focused on preserving cultural and biological diversity, sharing food and beverage knowledge, and supporting equity and wellness within communities.
Last year’s celebration saw almost 15,000 bars and restaurants across more than 90 countries take part, raising a combined USD700,000. The funds have since supported educational scholarships and community-based projects around the world.
Malaysia Kicked Things Off in Bangsar
Malaysia got an early taste of the celebrations with an opening party in Mantra Rooftop Bar & Lounge in Bangsar Village II on 17th September.
Bartenders and Negroni lovers came together for an evening centered around the many stories and flavors behind the Campari cocktail.
Naturally, there were plenty of drinks involved. Guests were served classics including the Americano and Negroni. Alongside Mantra’s own Negroni al Daun Limau. The signature creation adds a Malaysian touch with ingredients including kaffir lime leaves infused in Bulldog Gin.
Jakarta Meets KL For A Special Guest Shift
The celebrations continue with a special guest shift at Cabinet 8 KL on 23rd September, from 8PM until midnight.
Behind the bar will be Demitria and Syazi of Hats Bar in Jakarta, which received the Campari One To Watch Award 2026 at Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2026.
Joining them will be Cabinet 8 KL Head bartender Sam Yap, who is known for exploring lesser-known Malaysian flavors through his drinks from wild herbs and forgotten tropical fruits to foraged roots and indigenous aromatics.
With bartenders from Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur coming together for one night, expect some interesting flavors to find their way into the glass.
And The Celebration Doesn’t End on 27th September
While the official Negroni Week runs from 21st to 27th September, cocktail lovers in Malaysia will have a little more time to join in. Participating bars will continue serving their Negroni Week creations until 21st October 2026.
