Aside from concerts, several international stars will be making special appearances in Malaysia later this year. Of course, fans are always eager for the announcement of their favourite K-pop idols coming to our shores for Meet and Greet events.
We may be getting more of those soon, as two brands, CHAGEE and Ecobrown, recently teased fans with the news that they’ll be bringing some K-pop superstars to Kuala Lumpur. Who could these celebrities be? Here’s what we know so far:
Let’s start with the most recent announcement. On Monday (7th April), CHAGEE Malaysia revealed that a very special guest will be making an appearance at an upcoming event later this year. The post featured a silhouette of the celebrity, prompting many fans to share their guesses about who it might be. The majority speculated that the special guest could be NCT Dream member Chenle (천러).
This speculation arises from the fact that the idol was seen drinking the popular tea brand at the group’s fan signing event in KL last year. Photos and videos of him holding a CHAGEE drink quickly circulated online, which led to a spike in the brand’s sales that very week. This also led many to urge the company to appoint the singer as their brand ambassador. Although nothing has been confirmed yet, the chances seem quite likely.
Over the weekend, Ecobrown teased that four members of a popular K-pop boy group might be attending their event at Sunway Pyramid next month. Similar to CHAGEE, the Instagram post also featured silhouettes of the idols, but the brand included animal emojis to help fans guess who they might be and which group they belong to. The majority speculated that the idols are Park Jeongwoo (박정우), Kim Doyoung (도영), Choi Hyunsuk (최현석), and Haruto (하루토,/ハルト) from TREASURE (트레저).
