Who doesn’t like getting in on some gossip? Well, most netizens do, to the point where Chinese netizens even have a separate phrase for it. They often refer to gossip as “eating melons”. Unfortunately, different gossips usually result in plenty of arguments.
Well, for once, South Korean-born actor Nathan Lee Seung Hyun (이승현, 李承铉) has some ‘good’ melons to share. The actor happily announced that he and his wife, Stephy Qi Wei (戚薇) are currently expecting their second child!
Nathan announced the news on his socials today (27th May). He posted a photo of his family of three with the message “There are melons in the picture: 1+1+1=4“. Nathan had also helpfully highlighted the watermelon in the photo, a clear tease directed to netizens. “527 (Love Qi Wei), happy,” he added.
Their announcement was further supplemented by teasing from Stephy. “Summer is here,” she wrote in her own post. “Please eat (melons).” She also added a photo of Nathan doodling on his earlier post. The couple are clearly looking forward to welcoming the addition to their family.
Netizens were quick to congratulate the family. Some joked that this was the kind of “melon” they loved. Others commented on how creative Nathan had been with his doodles. Several also expressed joy that Nathan and Stephy’s daughter, Lucky would be becoming a sister.
Nathan and Stephy tied the knot in September 2014, after publicly announcing their relationship earlier that year. Lucky was then born in 2015 and the couple had a happy family of three for a few years. However, netizens had suspected something when Nathan was spotted accompanying Stephy to the hospital in March this year.
Well, congrats to the happy couple! We’re certainly looking forward to knowing what they’ll be naming their second daughter.
