Malaysian artist Namewee (黃明志) has always been known for his outspoken nature. When something doesn’t sit right with him, you can be sure he will speak up. However, Namewee’s latest outburst has left some reeling, especially given the sensitive nature of the topic.
Just recently, the singer-rapper claimed a female friend of his had been taken advantage of by a male artist. Enraged by what had happened, Namewee had taken to his Instagram to air his views on the matter. Needless to say, his post left many wondering who exactly Namewee was referring to.
The issue first surfaced on 15th January. “You raped (my friend) and (ejaculated) inside her without a condom. If (you are) caught in your home country, you’ll probably be put behind bars to await punishment,” he wrote. Namewee added that the rant didn’t meant they weren’t going to report the issue, but it “wasn’t time yet“.
Namewee later continued scolding the offender, and shared a little more about them. “She thought (she) could meet her idol up close, but you suddenly took off (your) pants and ejaculated in two minutes,” he said. “Then (you) quickly pulled (up) your pants and ran back to the room.” Namewee scoffed at the alleged artist’s cowardice, claiming he had ran because he was afraid of being seen. “What the hell is that?” he asked indignantly.
The rapper was furious that the artist had simply acted without caring about the consequences. “What (would you) do if (she got) pregnant? How old is she?” Namewee asked. “Is it difficult to go our with a condom in your wallet? Is it difficult to pull it out?” Curiously enough, Namewee also asked, “Are you not familiar with Thailand?” leaving fans wondering if the alleged artist was Thai.
Namewee later defended his choice of sharing the issue on his socials. He claimed that there was no point in taking the issue to the police nor exposing the artist as the victim did not want to do so. “Would the general public believe her?” he asked rhetorically. “Or would they continue to scold her for (bringing it up)?”
Well, we can understand where Namewee and his friend are coming from. However, we do hope they manage to resolve the issue soon.
