The 2015 MTV Movie Awards showed that it was not only about the accolades because a huge amount of movie trailers were also released. “Pitch Perfect 2” built anticipation for its upcoming release by giving the audience a sneak peak of the movie. “Avengers: Age of Ultron“, “Paper Towns“, “Scream”, and “Ant-Man” also presented their trailers during the award ceremony.
The movie proved its continued popularity when cast members Anna Camp, Brittany Snow, Hailee Steinfield, and Rebel Wilson (or better known as Fat Amy) appeared at the award show for the premiere of a new trailer. Wilson stole the limelight as she walked onstage with a huge pair of angel wings while her co-stars were presenting the “Best Male Performer” award.
The first in the series, “Pitch Perfect” followed a college a cappella group as they compete against other groups to win Nationals. The movie, which propelled Rebel Wilson into mainstream fame, is the second highest grossing movie in the music comedy category.
As for “Pitch Perfect 2”, the story will centre on the group again as they compete in the world championship, or to quote Snow, “We’re not only taking on other people, but now we’re taking on the world. So stakes are a little bit higher because… the world.”
Directed by Elizabeth Banks, “Pitch Perfect 2” will be released on 15th May 2015.
