Simon Mohan’s (莫翰) death shocked fans and the music industry but no one is more saddened by the situation than his own family. Following his sudden departure, the two sons of the late singer expressed their profound sadness over the abruptness of the situation. Kris and Raj recently shared their thought on their father’s death and how they never had the chance to hear their father’s final words.
According to reports, the late singer was rushed to the hospital on 10th June and died the next day after succumbing to brain hypoxia due to an infection in his lungs. As the whole situation happened so quickly, his two sons revealed they barely had a chance to register what was happening or hear those last words from their father, whom they were deeply close to. Kris and Raj also feel deeply saddened that they’ll never have the chance to celebrate Father’s Day with Simon this coming Sunday (16th June).
Eldest son Kris also spoke about the strong bond between him and his father, describing their relationship as more akin to friendship than the traditional father-son dynamic. “We could talk about anything and everything with our father,” he added. Both sons reminisced about their cherished moments with their father, particularly their shared love for exploring new dining spots together.
It was previously revealed that Mohan (莫翰) had moved from Ipoh to Kuala Lumpur to stay with his children after his wife had passed away after her battle with cancer in 2017. Simon also recently had a stroke just two months ago, so his children decided they wanted to be closer to him to provide the care and support he needed.
Besides sharing an incredible bond with each other, the sons had also inherited their father’s remarkable talents. Both sons possess musical gifts and have showcased them alongside their late father. Kris even recently shared the stage with his father, showing more proof for their close relationship.
