A shocking scandal has struck the Singapore entertainment industry – and the target is Malaysian-born actor Zhang Yaodong (张耀栋). Recently, a social media post went viral, alleging that the actor is a serial cheater and has gotten several women pregnant over the past few years.
The claims first surfaced on XiaoHongShu from a post titled “About Zhang Yaodong in Singapore”. The post alleges that the actor has been pretending to be single for a long time yet is in a committed relationship with a woman and already has two children. However, in addition to not being truthful about his relationship status, the post also claims that Zhang Yaodong has repeatedly cheated on his partner with both men and women.
The post also included an image of a man, believed to be Zhang Yaodong, sleeping on a bed. Several other “whistleblowers” have also contributed to the post, bringing up more claims about the 47-year-old star, including that he regularly visits clubs to hit on girls. One comment alleges that Zhang Yaodong has also dated a friend and cheated on her, adding that the friend has a lot of evidence to back her claims. Another comment claimed that the actor had also impregnated another woman and wouldn’t take responsibility.
Many netizens have since reacted to the claims, unsurprisingly criticising Zhang Yaodong for not being faithful to his supposed baby mama. One comment even slammed the media personality, saying, “This girl has been with you for more than ten years without exposing you and has given birth to two children for you. As a man, you should have a sense of responsibility, and you should also give an explanation for the illegitimate child outside!”
Singaporean media outlets have contacted Zhang Yaodong’s agency for comment but haven’t received any official response. Meanwhile, the actor appeared on a live stream after the rumours surfaced but was quiet throughout the broadcast. While he didn’t mention anything about the scandal, viewers noted that he seemed affected by the rumours.
It’s worth noting that there is no concrete proof of the allegations. Nevertheless, we hope Zhang Yaodong will release an official statement soon to clarify all the rumours.
