Matt Damon Will Be Odysseus

To say that there’s been plenty of hype surrounding Christopher Nolan’s upcoming epic film, “The Odyssey,” would be a gross understatement. Ever since Universal Pictures broke the news over on X, cinephiles and Nolan fans have been clinging on to every morsel of information that they can get their hands on, and the film production company is happy to share a small helping every other day.
Today is one of those days, as Universal has just unveiled who will be the King of Ithaca. In an X post, the 112-year-old distribution company revealed that Matt Damon will be your Odysseus. The post itself showcased the veteran actor donning armour worthy of the legendary king. The post reads, “Matt Damon is Odysseus. A film by Christopher Nolan, #TheOdysseyMovie is in theaters July 17, 2026.” The post was later shared in the company’s Instagram page two hours later.

Damon will be sacking Troy with or be fighting against an A-list cast, which includes (so far) Tom Holland, Mia Goth, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Benny Safdie, Jon Bernthal, and John Leguizamo. Unfortunately, however, Universal is still playing coy as the company refuses to announce who will play who; perhaps they plan to tease us more at a later date.
In an exclusive report by Variety, it was reported that part of the film will be filmed in Sicily, the area where Odysseus and crew were lost at sea for the better part of 10 years in the original text from Homer over 2,000 years ago. From that same report, it was also revealed that production will kick off in the spring on the Island of Favignana, which is colloquially known as “goat island.” Additionally, it is believed that this location was where Homer imagined Odysseus and his crew would touch down.
The film’s script has been penned by Nolan, who is also its director and producer. On top of that, his wife, Emma Thomas, will produce the film under Syncopy’s banner.
“Twisted Metal” Season 2 Trailer Drops

Streets will soon be ablaze again, as the streaming service Peacock has announced that “Twisted Metal” will be back later this year. If you were a gamer in the 90s to the 2000s, you would’ve heard of the franchise called “Twisted Metal.” For the uninitiated, “Twisted Metal” is a series of vehicular combat video games whose plot revolves around the eponymous Twisted Metal Tournament, where the last man standing receives a special boon in the form of a wish. And yes, it is a monkey’s paw sort of wish-granting.
The show, on the other hand, features Captain America-star Anthony Mackie, who plays the role of John Doe, a delivery driver with amnesia. He is accompanied by Stephanie Beatriz, who plays the role of Quiet, and Joe Seanoa and Will Arnett as the iconic, psychotic killer clown, Sweet Tooth.

However, the Twisted Metal competition was conspicuously absent until the end of season one, when it was finally revealed. We can now expect to see the most intense demolition derby, and a more familiar cast of characters, outside of the ones that were established in Season one.
We’re talking about the ruthless Dollface, as well as Mr. Grimm, the former of which has a special relationship with John Doe that is original to the TV series. We also get to see the very host of these games and wish-granter, Calypso, played by Anthony Carrigan. Before the trailer ends, it showcases a man placing his iron fist into a giant wheel. Keen-eyed fans would know that this is the fan-favourite character Axel. Curiously enough, he isn’t stuck between two wheels like in the original game series, which is an interesting change that we’re absolutely curious about.
Unfortunately, the teaser doesn’t reveal a specific date for the season, but it has been confirmed that it’s slated for the summer, which would be around mid-June to mid-September.
