A missing person report turned tragic after family members confirmed that Malaysian actress Nadia Kesuma had passed away after losing contact with family while en route to Jeddah to perform her Umrah. She was 49.
Nadia’s daughter confirmed her mother’s passing, writing, “Assalamualaikum everyone, I would like to inform you that my mother, Nadiah Kasumawati Abdul Karim, has returned to Rahmatullah on 15th January (Thursday) at approximately 8.05am.” In a separate statement, she revealed that her mother passed away from a heart attack.

Nadia previously sparked nationwide concern when her family reported her missing in Jeddah. They lost contact with her after she arrived at the King Abdul Aziz International Airport on 14th January (Wednesday). The late actress flew to Jeddah as part of a 21-person Umrah pilgrimage group organised by a travel agency.
According to reports, the late actress suffered a heart attack while at the airport. She was rushed to the hospital by authorities and was later pronounced dead at the King Fahad Hospital. Her husband, Prof Dr Muhammad Kamarul Kabilan, and her daughter have flown to Jeddah to manage funeral arrangements. Kamarul also mentioned that Nadia will be buried in Jeddah.
The public has extended their condolences to the late actress, additionally praying for a smooth burial. Persatuan Seniman Malaysia, along with Nadia’s friends and acquaintances, have also paid tribute to the star, remembering her for her kindness and dedication towards her work and private life.
Nadia leaves behind her husband and four children. We also extend our condolences to Nadia’s family and loved ones on their loss. May they find solace during this difficult time, and may the last actress rest in peace.
