Oh my god! It’s like watching “Mean Girls” in real life. Move over Ariana Grande, we have found the real Regina George!

Miss USA Sara Rose Summers, 24 has been called out online for openly mocking Miss Vietnam and Miss Cambodia on Miss Universe competition. She has been compared to Regina George from “Mean Girls” for her rude and disrespectful comments on the non English-speaking Asian contestants.

Videos of her gossiping with Miss Columbia Valeria Morales and Miss Australia Francesca Hung has been going viral on the internet yesterday.

At first, the 3 ladies seem to be complimenting Miss Vietnam H’Hen Niê calling her cute, fashionable and elegant. But then, Sarah started to say some mean stuff.

“She’s so cute and she pretends to know so much English and then you ask her a question after having a whole conversation with her and she goes…” Miss USA continues as she mimic Miss Vietnam’s nod and smile.

In another video, Sarah starts talking about Miss Cambodia Rern Sinat, “Miss Cambodia is here and doesn’t speak any English, and not a single other person here speaks her language. Can you imagine? Francesca said that it would be so isolating, and I said, yes and just confusing all the time.”

After the videos have been wildly circulating online, Sarah was sharply criticised by social media users who described the comments as mocking, bigoted and racist, while others are saying that the 3 contestants were an example of xenophobia and that they should be removed from the competition.

Following the backlash, Miss USA, Sarah Rose Summers took to her Instagram to issue an apology. “In a moment where I intended to admire the courage of a few of my sisters, I said something that I now realise can be perceived as not respectful, and I apologise.”

“My life, friendships, and career revolve around me being a compassionate and empathetic woman. I would never intend to hurt another. I am grateful for opportunities to speak with Nat, Miss Cambodia, and H’Hen, Miss Vietnam, directly about this experience. These are the moments that matter most to me,” she wrote on a photo showing all of them hugging each other.
