As of recent years, many young actors and actresses are starting to make a name for themselves in the entertainment industry. Being able to land themselves a permanent role in popular shows is truly a commendable achievement, and Hong Kong young actress, Kelly Gu (古佩玲) has done just that.
The now 23-year-old started off her entertainment career participating in Miss Hong Kong 2019. Seizing the second runner-up position in the competition, she then used the opportunity to later venture into acting.
Scoring herself a permanent role in HK longest running sitcom, “Come Home Love: Lo and Behold (爱．回家之开心速递)”, Kelly caught the interest of netizens even though she has only been in the industry for 4 years. The actress stars as a sorceress named Jane in the highly-rated drama.
Given how fast Kelly is rising to fame, netizens suspected her of having a powerful backstage supporter. Rumours have it that her father was a former Chinese officer who later went into business. She is allegedly able to get this far in her career in a short time because of her dad’s powerful background.
In regard of these rumours, the beauty strongly denied them. She clarified that her whole family is from Hong Kong and her father and brother run a family business. Although she did not mention whether she is the second generation of a rich family, her family is financially comfortable.
Not long ago, Kelly also updated her Instagram profile with gorgeous pictures of herself in a strapless dress. Netizens were in awe of her beauty and how much more defined her facial features are compared to the past. They even said that these recent posts of hers look similar to famous Hong Kong actress, Ali Lee (李佳芯).
