Kyuhyun (규현) is more than a triple threat. The Super Junior member can sing, dance and host. In addition to singing flawlessly in Mandarin (“你好不好?”, “至少還有你”, “原諒我”, and “新不了情”), local fans also discovered that Kyuhyun is able to sing in Malay.

Throughout the 2-hour “Restart” concert, Kyuhyun showed the variety of “colours’ in his artistic range. From belting out power ballads (“Restart”, “Dreaming”), to surprising fans when he came up to the upper tier, Kyuhyun showered concert-goers with plenty of fan services. Arguably, the biggest surprise probably came during the encore session.

For the encore, the 36-year-old star came out in a simple white t-shirt and shared that he had a special gift for the fans in Kuala Lumpur. As soon he sang the first verse to Misha Omar’s 2002 ballad “Bunga-Bunga Cinta” (Flowers Of Love), the crowd erupted into cheers. It was truly impressive to hear the “Single’s Inferno” host nailing every single Malay word in the song.

Shortly after the concert, fans were raving about Kyuhyun’s rendition. Word soon got to Misha Omar when fans started tagging the Malaysian singer on social media. The songstress said that she feels honoured and can’t stop smiling. “Kyuhyun made the song sound more romantic,” the 42-year-old told Gempak. Misha has also been reposting the reactions from fans online.

“Bunga-Bunga Cinta” was one of the biggest hits to emerge from Malaysia in the 2000s. In addition to topping various charts, the beautiful ballad also won multiple awards (Anugerah Industri Muzik ke-12, Anugerah Juara Lagu ke-18, Anugerah Media Hiburan). It has also been covered numerous times on reality singing competitions like Akademi Fantasia, Gegar Vaganza, Mentor, Big Stage and more. It’s still among Misha’s most popular songs.

Fingers crossed we’ll get to see Misha Omar and Kyuhyun sing together in the future.
