For some of us, life seems to be all planned out. Oh sure, there will be a few bumps along the way, but ultimately, we’re pretty sure we know where we’re going. However, for others, the road travelled can often lead to unexpected directions.

Taiwanese actress Mini Chao (米可白)’s life has vastly differed since her divorce in 2019. She’s still doing well career-wise, but after her divorce, Mini went back to a simple life. She’s found herself a down-to-earth boyfriend and recently helped out with her family’s business of selling cakes. Needless to say, the actress enjoyed going back to her roots.

The 36-year-old had first debuted as “Grape Sister (葡萄姐姐)” in a popular kids show. It got her a foothold in the entertainment scene and she later moved on to hosting children programs. In fact, she even got shortlisted for the Best Host in a Children Programme during the 2012 Golden Bell Awards. From there, Mini looked into expanding her career in dramas.

Unfortunately, while her career was going places, her love life wasn’t. She had fallen for a businessman and married him in 2014. However, five years later, she divorced him. Since then, Mini has been focusing on her career and has successfully been in five TV series in just three years. But as the saying goes, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. As such, Mini has also simply been enjoying life as it comes!

The actress recently shared that she’s in her hometown Changhua, helping her family with their cake store. Mini said that she’s back as the Mid-Autumn Festival is coming. “From day to night, I make more than 900 cakes in total,” she added. “I haven’t baked cakes in so long. My cake-making speed is super slow and I’m a little backwards.” However, there’s no denying her skills and dedication to the craft. Mini claims she may be out of practice, but she’s still good enough to be considered a “senior apprentice”.

Mini’s also clearly moved on from her separation with her ex-husband. In fact, the actress was spotted with a new beau in hand this year. She shared that he isn’t related to the entertainment industry and is actually working in the construction industry.

Well, the divorce may have rocked her life, but Mini is clearly over it. We wish the actress well as she celebrates the coming festival with her family!
