Drinking is a vice that many enjoy. While some indulge in social drinking, others sometimes tend to go overboard with how much they drink. And that can have consequences ranging from disastrous to hilarious.
Fans of Hong Kong artist Michael Tse (谢天华) better known as “Laughing Gor” will know that he really loves drinking! Unfortunately, this has gotten Michael into plenty of trouble. From his shenanigans as a cuddly drunk to getting caught driving while drinking, Michael’s ‘drunk history’ is certainly one to remember!
Michael is well-known for his performances in both acting and singing. Recently, Michael went drinking with a friend. While he drank enough to get his cheeks rosy, he apparently restrained himself to only two glasses of wine. Although Michael seemed extremely calm and well-behaved, fans still claimed he was drunk. But, compared with his previous drunk antics, this was one of his tamer moments.
The 55-year-old has been photographed plenty of times while drunk. He often needed two to three people to help support him as he couldn’t walk straight. In fact, during the 2009 finale banquet for “Lives of Omission (潜行狙击)”, Michael drank so much he needed a male assistant to help him out the doors. The actor also tried to hug everyone at the banquet. He even kissed the producer’s cheek in public!
Unfortunately, his tendency to be a cuddly drunk has almost gotten him in hot water. Once, Michael was seen hugging woman while drunk, but luckily, he was forgiven by his wife. Cuddly drunk aside, his inebriation has also caused problems elsewhere. In 2009, Michael was fined almost 10,000 yuan (~RM6500), sentenced to six weeks of probation and suspended for a year and a half, all for drunk driving.
His drunk driving incident later prompted Michael to warn others about drinking over one’s limit. But, thankfully, he’s proven that those words were more than just talk. It seems in his older years, Michael is much more cautious about his drinking habits!
