We went a-haunting with Michelle Yeoh, got a kick out of Christian Louboutin, had a fit over NewJeans’ fits, and MUCH, MUCH MORE! We were on the scene, and vibing like a boss! Just check out our social diary for this past week (don’t be jelly!):
‘A Haunting In Venice’ Preview Screening
If you love mystery, crime and horror movies, then “A Haunting In Venice” is for you! The Kenneth Branagh-directed flick serves as a sequel to “Death At The Nile” and the third instalment to feature Belgian detective Hercule Poirot as the main character. Oscar winner Tan Sri Dato Michelle Yeoh also stars in the movie, so it’s no surprise that her family were at the preview screening at Dadi Cinema, Pavilion KL! Guess who else was there? WE were!
The movie is set in 1947 Venice, where Poirot must solve the year-old murder of a guest during a séance. Can you guess who the culprit is? Watch it and find out, because WE’RE not telling!

Christian Louboutin ASTROLOUBI Launch
There’s a new sneaker on the block – and it’s called the ASTROLOUBI! The new footwear line from Christian Louboutin draws inspiration from 90’s street style and the aesthetic of the era’s iconic basketball and skate sneakers. We were at the brand’s Pavilion Kuala Lumpur boutique to get a closer look at the stunning kicks, which are available in five colourways.
All the designs include bright colours, an exciting mix of materials and textures and, of course, the iconic red soles. At the event, guests tested their basketball skills with the Louboutin basketball arcade machine, and experienced other activities. We discovered that we got game too!

Michael Kors Empire Logo Launch
We hit up a private party to celebrate the launch of Michael Kors’ new Empire logo! Inspired by Michael’s travels to Paris, the diamond lattice monogram MK logo is an ode to the iconic Louvre. At the launch party at the label’s Pavilion Kuala Lumpur boutique, we got an up-close look at all the pieces that feature the new logo – from outerwear to handbags.
The new logo will debut as part of the brand’s Fall 2023 collection, which includes other beautiful pieces, to create the perfect fall wardrobe. While at the event, we also tried out some yummy treats and beverages; and partied with celebs as the in-house DJ spun his records.

Lyf Raja Chulan Hotel Launch
We were on hand for the launch of the lyf Hotel at Raja Chulan, Kuala Lumpur! In conjunction with the 66th Merdeka Day and 60th Malaysia Day, lyf also launched the ‘Kuala Lumpur Comes A-lyf’ campaign alongside representatives from the Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH), Malaysia Budget & Business Hotels Association (MyBHA), Malaysia International Tourism Development Association (MiTDA), and Kakiseni, to name a few.
lyf also invites everyone to a showcase of the new Ascott Limited collection for the next 12 months, with various cultural and tourism-related events in the pipeline! Check out what you can expect when you visit the hotel:

GoPro Hero12 Black Launch
GoPro invited us to a massive event where they launched the GoPro Hero12 Black in the Malaysian market. We were given a rundown of all we needed to know about the new camera – from its incredibly versatile features to its price.
Not only were we treated to an amazing presentation, but we were also given a chance to take the new device for a spin. We took photos and videos of the venue, Terra PJ, letting us fully understand what the pocketable beast could do. With its new focus on fun, it’s safe to say that we had a blast as we mingled with casual videographers and dedicated GoPro family members alike.

Levi’s® x NewJeans Launch
Levi’s® has always been dedicated to creating the best quality jeans possible. So it seems only right that they work together with K-pop group, NewJeans, their global ambassadors, to celebrate their ongoing 150th anniversary of Levi’s® 501® jeans. And we were there, front and centre, during the launch.
The girls and Levi’s® are now challenging fans to show off their creativity, express themselves and “really make your jeans, your own.” At Levi’s® Tailor Shops, fans will be able to embroider, add patches, pleats and more embellishments to 501®Shorts, 501®‘81 Jeans, 501®Cropped Jeans, 501®‘90s jeans, and 501® Original jeans. Magnum Matcha Crumble Launch
Magnum hosted an extravagant takeover event at Sentul Depot, which was transformed into a Magnum Matcha world. The event was attended by an array of distinguished guests, including Daiyan Trisha, Ben Amir and Qiu Wen. The celebs’ presence added an extra layer of glamour and excitement, reaffirming Magnum‘s status as the epitome of true pleasure.
We were super glad to be part of the scrumptious bash, as we got to experience the new flavours for ourselves! The “blend of East and West” concept captures the essence of Japanese culture, which is expertly paired with Magnum’s signature, thick cracking Belgian chocolate, delivering an indulgence that stays True to Pleasure. The Magnum Matcha Crumble has velvety smooth Matcha ice cream, encased in the iconic Magnum thick cracking Belgian chocolate, with crunchy shortbread crumble pieces. The remarkable combination offers a symphony of textures and flavours that truly elevate the ice cream experience.
We also gained insights into Japanese culture by trying our hand at the Japanese tea ceremony, crafting Japanese fans, and penning down wishes on a “wishing tree”.

The Westin KL’s Fabulous 20 Celebration
Happy birthday, Westin Kuala Lumpur! For those not in the know, this year, Westin KL is celebrating its 20th anniversary of providing warm, Malaysian hospitality to visitors from all over the world. We got to celebrate the significant milestone with the venerated hotel at their revamped Westin-dulgence Dinner Buffet spread.
The night was made more festive by their one-night only Prego Pop-up, featuring special guest chef and former Prego chef, Rajesh Kanna. The Pop-up not only paid homage to their former Italian restaurant, but allowed us to enjoy several of the restaurant’s hit dishes, such as Mushroom Risotto, Prawn Aglio Olio, Salt-Baked Sea Bass, and desserts Tiramisu and Chocolate Mud Pie.
Guests will still be able to experience the Westin-dulgence Dinner Buffet, which is available on Friday and Saturday nights, 6pm to 10pm. Kids can eat free with every paying adult. Bon appetit!
ZUS Coffee Kampung Buatan Malaysia
Kampung Buatan Malaysia, a ZUS Coffee event, brought together and celebrated the collaboration of various homegrown brands and partners such as BOH, Inside Scoop, Julie’s and Farm Fresh. We got to walk around the area and explore various booths, from Julie’s well-loved biscuits to BOH’s amazing green tea, Inside Scoop’s limited edition ice cream and Farm Fresh’s food trucks.
ZUS Coffee themselves kept the festivities going with their latest innovation, the “Tarik Series”, and plenty of games for guests to try. Additionally, there was also a Pasar ZUS, which encouraged guests to check out the various displays of local brands’ unique products.

UNIQLO: C Preview
UNIQLO announced the launch of its latest collection, UNIQLO: C, featuring womenswear created by acclaimed British fashion designer, Clare Waight Keller. We were bedazzled by the sophisticated and inventive designs, which made influencers and models at the event look classy, yet comfy, in the pieces. Additionally, each garment could be combined however you like to create amazing, eye-catching outfits.

Sindiyan Plantation Earns Malaysia Book Of Records For Largest Musang King Plantation
Craving for thick, juicy durian? Perhaps you’d like to travel to Sindiyan Plantation to taste the best Musang King. The 7,000 acres land in Lojing Highlands, Gua Musang, Kelantan was recently awarded the Largest Musang King Plantation by The Malaysia Book of Records. By developing a sustainable agriculture and agro-tourism business, Sindiyan Plantation hopes to expand its plantation by partnering with Hernan Corporation to produce 60,000 metric tonne of durian annually.
The Malaysia Book of Records award was presented at Sindiyan Musang King Durian Eco Park and witnessed by YB Dato Dr Haji Mohamed Fadzli, Deputy Kelantan Menteri Besar.
