#MGAG: What Do Your Favourite Hit Songs Sound Like In Bahasa Malaysia? This

Local gag site MGAG, the Malaysian version of the hilariously popular SGAG from Singapore, hit all the right notes with their latest video.

Titled, “Hit Songs in Bahasa Malaysia”, the clip features – yes, you guessed it – chart-topping songs with a Malaysian twist. Upon the release of the “music video”, MGAG country manager Lau Mun Yee (who can be seen singing Ed Sheeran’s “Shape Of You”) said, “MGAG publishes a new video every day. We create contents that are relevant to Malaysians, and we thought that this video would speak to everyone.”

The 3-minute odd compilation of translated (English to Bahasa Malaysia) hit songs include Calvin Harris ft. Rihanna’s “This Is What You Came For”, Maroon 5’s “Sugar”, Coldplay’s “Fix You”, The Chainsmokers’ “Closer”, Bruno Mars’ “Grenade”, and many more. If you listened closely, you’d also be able to pick out some words in the lyrics that were improvised, or should we say, Malaysianised.

“Jadi beb tarikku dekat di tempat duduk Myvi mu yang ku tau kau tak mampu” (The Chainsmokers – “Closer”) and “Dua puluh empat lobak magik di udara” (Bruno Mars – “24K Magic”) ?

So funny, our sides are splitting from all that laughter. Watch:

Thanks for the much needed dosage of laughter, MGAG!
