Peeps, get excited because you can now conduct group video calls on Facebook Messenger!

The feature was introduced just yesterday (Monday, 19th December), and it is slowly rolling out to Android and iOS devices, as well as the desktop version of Messenger, worldwide.

In a blog post, Facebook explains that the feature was introduced as it is the “most requested Messenger feature ever”, and to bring “everyone on Messenger the ability to turn group chats into face-to-face conversations no matter where you are”.

It’s extremely easy to use the new group call feature. All you have to do is create a group chat and click on the video call icon (which is on the top right on both mobile and desktop), which will direct you to a drop down menu. It will display the names of everyone in the group chat, and you will have the option of calling everyone, or only selecting a few members.

Up to 50 friends can join in the call, however, as there’s a limit in space, only the faces of 6 people will be displayed on screen at a time. This means that everyone will be able to hear in on the conversation, but only those who speak will be seen on screen.

Confused? We’ll let this video do the talking:

You can download the latest version of Messenger for Android here, or here for the iOS version.
