Many K-pop idols have a rich history in the entertainment industry before finding their ultimate place in the spotlight. Debuting multiple times is quite common, as the path to success often takes unexpected turns. Their versatility showcases their dedication to their long-time dream.
However, this one female K-pop idol almost had her seventh debut. Meet Xindy (신디), whose journey through various groups over the years from 2019 until now highlights her unwavering determination in the entertainment industry. Let’s take a look at some of the groups she joined, debuted in or almost debuted in:
1. DPOP Friends

DPOP Friends (디팝프렌즈) was a project group managed by UPVOTE Entertainment, featuring various artists performing covers and original works. Xindy, who was one of the members, gained attention by joining the group by doing dance covers of songs from the popular survival show “Produce 48.” This project group aimed to showcase the talents of its members through various performances and collaborations.
2. Midnight

After leaving her former company, Xindy joined H&I Entertainment and became part of a trainee girl group, Midnight (미드나잇), under the new management. Her timing was perfect, as she joined just in time for the release of their third pre-debut single in August 2019. However, in September, she unexpectedly left the group right before their official debut, and no reasons were clarified for her sudden departure.
3. Daydream

Xindy then debuted in Daydream (데이드림), a group under Great Company, in January 2020. This marked her first debut in her career, and she changed her stage name to Chaeha (채하). However, due to a conflict within the company, she left the group shortly after the debut.
4. Chic&I

The idol once again made her second debut as a member of the girl group Chic&Idle, later rebranded as Chic&I’s (시크한 아이들), under Liz Entertainment. The group officially debuted on 20th July 2020, with their digital single “3!4!”.
5. Solo Debut

Even though the company had released a statement stating that Xindy would be part of a pre-debut girl group, she took a different path and made a solo debut, surprising fans. In May 2022, she released her digital single titled “Mermaid.” This unexpected decision showcased her individual talent and marked a significant moment in her career.
6. Chic Angel

Following her solo career, Xindy debuted the fourth time as she joined the girl group Chic Angel (시크엔젤) under Liz Entertainment in November 2021, serving as the main vocalist and rapper. The group, which debuted in February 2017, initially consisted of the other three members. Chic Angel has been on hiatus since 2023, and no plans for the group have been made.
7. We-Say

Lastly, Xindy joined the pre-debut group WE-SAY (위세이), previously known as ZEROSIX. Despite the group’s promising start with their pre-debut single in September 2023, the company disbanded the group even before making an official debut. This occurred after Xindy ended her contract with Liz Entertainment in March 2024.
With her numerous experiences across multiple groups and a solo project, one might wonder if Xindy holds the title of the idol with the most debuts or almost-debuts in the K-pop industry.
