Years after his untimely death, Matthew Perry’s legacy of giving back continues. Earlier this week, Heritage Auction announced it’s auctioning off some of the late actor’s personal belongings in partnership with his namesake nonprofit organisation.
Heritage Auctions recently announced The Matthew Perry Estate Auction, a charity auction featuring personal items from the actor’s estate. The auction is in partnership with The Matthew Perry Foundation, the star’s namesake nonprofit organisation, which aims to end the stigma of addiction. The auction will commence on 5th June 2026 (Friday), but Heritage Auctions has unveiled the items listed in the auction.

The items include Matthew’s personal belongings, as well as pieces related to “Friends”. Among the highlights of the auction are a collection of “Friends” memorabilia, including items from the show’s filming set and scripts from key episodes. One of the most recognisable items is Matthew’s own reproduction of the iconic yellow peephole frame hung on the back of Monica’s apartment door.
Some of Matthew’s awards are also included in the auction, including his 1995 Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Television Comedy Series. Warner Bros. have also contributed to the auction, donating the pilot script for “Six of One”, the original name for “Friends”, and the script for the sitcom’s final episode. Both scripts feature autographs from all six cast members.

Net proceeds from the auction will help support The Matthew Perry Foundation and its work to end addiction stigma. For many years before his death on 28th October 2023 from an accidental ketamine overdose, the actor was outspoken about his battle with addiction. Lisa Kasteler Calio, CEO of the Matthew Perry Foundation, said the auction will help fuel the foundation’s work to expand access to evidence-based care and confront addiction stigma.
Proxy bidding for The Matthew Perry Estate Auction opened on 5th May 2026 at HA.com (Auction 7463). There will also be an in-person preview at Heritage Auctions’ Beverly Hills showroom in Los Angeles from 18th to 29th May 2026.
