After years of dating, Hong Kong actor Mat Yeung (楊明) and Malaysian-born actress Lisa Ch’ng (莊思明) are finally tying the knot. The couple will marry later this weekend in Kuala Lumpur, marking the culmination of a decade-long romance.
According to reports, Mat and Lisa will be saying their “I do’s” at the JW Marriott Hotel on 2nd August 2026 (Sunday). The couple have been preparing for the wedding ceremony for the past two months with the help of a professional team. The celebration is said to be a lavish occasion, with the pair even travelling to Shanghai, Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Kuala Lumpur for wedding photos and videos.
Besides the venue and pre-wedding photoshoot, the pair also placed considerable attention to the bridal wardrobe. For her wedding gown, reports say Lisa has chosen an elegant and minimalist dress by a renowned Shanghai designer. She also donned a piece from The Atelier by Prof. Jimmy Choo’s latest haute couture collection for her pre-wedding photo. The estimated total expenditure on the bridal wardrobe alone is over HK$1 million (approximately RM520,000).
Mat and Lisa have been together since 2016, making them one of the most enduring couples in the Hong Kong entertainment industry. The actress even stood by her partner’s side after his legal troubles, for which he has expressed immense gratitude. Likewise, Mat also ardently supported his bride-to-be throughout the years. In an anniversary post, Lisa thanked her long-time partner for standing by her through the highs and lows of their relationship.
The wedding also marks another personal milestone for Mat. The actor recently returned to the restaurant industry, opening his own roast meat restaurant in Malaysia. The eatery, named Six Hub Roast House, is located in Petaling Jaya and specialises in Hong Kong-style roast meat, including char siu. The actor even hired an experienced chef from Hong Kong to ensure authenticity for his restaurant.
